I recently was asked at an instagram meet up group when I would host a retreat in Bali. As you all know I lived in Bali  for 25+ years as a textile and interior designer. 

 

I have always said that Bali is a designers haven as your creatives juices can flow infinitely .What a better way to get together for inspired living spaces, patterns, pillows, rugs, baskets and ikats crafted into countless home décor essentials that you can translate into todays decor styles.

 

We will explore traditional and modern Balinese design elements. A look into their traditional textiles that will translate into your client spaces. This is a unique opportunity to meet like-minded designers with a love for global inspired décor. During this retreat designers will connect with the artisan design community and have the opportunity to source product selections for their clients at cheaper prices.

GUIDED GROUP TOURS & ACTIVITIES 

• Mini Workshops of traditional Balinese art techniques  

• An introduction to designing your own textiles and visiting traditional textile factories

• Product Sourcing around Bali and from home 

• A private tour of the Markets in denpasar and Ubud to get you comfortable shopping and exploring on your own 

• A behind the scenes look at how things are made and the cultural influences behind them 

• A first hand experience into global style for a global market .

 

Your stay will be in a luxury villa retreat where you will be pampered in true  Balinese Style. Your designer retreats includes daily healthy breakfast, day trips with private car service to source products with your Bantalé host Donna that speaks fluent Indonesian. A day in the markets of denpasar . A visit to John Hardies amazing green school village with workshops &lunch inlcuded.One pamper day where you will enjoy the traditional Indonesian spa treatments in Ubud lunch included and of course we will check out some of Bali's beautiful beaches and waterfalls.
